NATALIE LARSON - FUSION DANCE FEST CAST
Natalie Bird is a dancer for the Irish Dance Center in Austin, TX. Birdie is also known by many of her feis friends as “the Irish dance mermaid” because she started dying the ends of her hair to match her solo dresses two years ago. In both hairstyle and everyday actions, she lives by the motto “always be true to the authentic YOU!”
Birdie became involved with Fusion Fighters in the spring of 2020 during the COVID 19 pandemic and has found a home for creative expression amidst a global network of Irish dancers who are using their love of art to create a more positive future. Having grown up traveling the globe with her family, Birdie sees herself as a global citizen (she speaks English, French and Spanish- a wee bit of Swedish and Turkish- and is learning Chinese!) and can’t wait to be able to get back on a plane to connect with all of her Fusion Fighter friends in person. So far Birdie has competed on two continents, in three countries, and five states; her goal is to compete in every country and state that host a feiseanna by the time she is 16!
When she isn’t dancing, Birdie co-hosts an AirBnB with her mum to learn about running her own business. She dedicates part of her earnings to Leukemia research in support of her best dance friend, two-hand partner, and fellow Fusion Fighter Dance Company member Friea Hovd in her battle to beat Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.
